Greater Love

Greater Love Hath No Man

BBC Religion and Ethics for BBC1 Directed by: Sian Salt

This programme reflects on the 1666 plague in which the people of the small, Derbyshire village of Eyam, decided as an act of faith, to quarantine themselves within their village to contain the spread of a deadly and highly contagious disease. 366 of the villagers died.

The programme follows the process of conception, rehearsal and performance of a musical retelling of this story written by Sarah Nelson and composed by James Atherton
